A Chance to Connect With Researchers

The Florida Ag Expo is only two weeks away! Florida Tomato Exchange Executive Vice President Michael Schadler encourages growers to attend the Expo and network with researchers at the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center (GCREC).

“One of the best parts of working in this industry is working with researchers, specifically at the GCREC,” says Schadler. “It is a phenomenal asset for the tomato industry and the fruit and vegetable industry.”

He wants growers to realize the world-class research done “right in our backyard” that directly affects them. “The Florida Ag Expo is a great way to highlight the research that goes on at the GCREC,” says Schadler. “Take some time to get over there and see the presentations and trials going on during the field tours.”

Schadler says the researchers and scientists at the GCREC want to assist growers. “The researchers need your participation so that they have feedback and can help with industry challenges,” says Schadler. “The opportunity to go to Expo is a chance to get a sense of what is going on in the industry, be a stakeholder and help shape the direction of research at the GCREC for years to come.”
